04-18-15 – Morning Prayer

Psalm 119:103

103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

When I wake up, my body wants to stretch, my mind wants coffee and my spirit wants the Word. I have found that my mornings are more peaceful when I read a Bible verse before brewing a cup or stretching. It is true for me that I find the Lord early in the morning more easily than late at night when I am tired and wanting to sleep. Start each morning with the Word of God. You don’t have to know the verse you read or the context or the message between the lines. Just read any verse before doing anything else. You will find peace, serenity and a desire to pray unceasing throughout your morning routine.

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Try not listening to the jibberish on morning radio unless it is a station glorifying God. Don’t text and drive… Pray and drive. Don’t be afraid to pray. God loves to hear our prayers. He hears them and answers them.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
