17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Peter was a normal man. He walked closely with the most powerful man to ever walk the earth, Jesus. He broke bread with Jesus, prayed with Jesus, guarded Jesus and Loved Jesus. He feared his own life when Jesus was arrested and people would say, “Aren’t you a disciple?” “I am not!”, Peter would say.
After Jesus rose from the dead, before He ascended into Heaven, Jesus gave Peter the opportunity to be reaffirmed as a disciple. Read John 21:17 (above).
If you are not sure that Jesus has his arm around you, if you are not positive that Jesus knows you Love Him, RESOLVE YOUR SALVATION.
Knowing who you serve is of the utmost importance. Are you serving yourself before God?
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
