Put God in His Place
Exodus 18:11 – Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods
Ephesians 4:6 – One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
1 Chronicles 16:25 – For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
There is no God like Jehovah. He is everything you can imagine and more. He is more than you can fathom. He is the supreme ruler of Heaven and Earth. He created the Earth and the whole Cosmos.
He is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent (Psalm 139). That means he is all-knowing, all-powerful and everywhere at once (Psalm 139).
He is the Commander in Chief over armies of angels (Luke 4:10). There is no authority above God on Earth or in Heaven.
Knowing God is all powerful and to be feared (Proverbs 1:7). Knowing priests have died in His presence (Leviticus 10:2). How can a sinner like you and me talk to God?
Only by blood Jesus shed on the cross can we find remission for sin (Exodus 12:13). Only by receiving the righteousness of Christ can we be worthy to be with God (Romans 3:22).
John 3:17 – For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
