John 2:3 (KJV) – And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
We can have Jesus and happiness. Keep it in that order. We cannot be happy all of the time. There is a time for weeping. There is a time for searching. We need to Read the Word of God daily and let God lead us to happiness.
WANTING HAPPINESS FOR YOURSELF – Happiness is temporary. Vacations and Toys are temporary. It is OK to pursue happiness and goals in life. We should not let our pursuit of happiness interfere with God’s will for our life. If we are daily pursuing God, we will know what happiness is.
WANTING TOO MUCH – We should not let our lives be consumed with wanting things. Our desires are powerful. What we want can cause us to miss out on what God has for us. Focus on Jesus. We should not let worldly desires distract us.
Matthew 6:34 (TLB) – “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.”
Mark 6:25 (NIV) – At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”
Be sure that your wants line up with the will of God. If you ever want someone else dead, repent and fall on your knees before God praying for a clean heart and new desires.
Psalm 23:1-3 – 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Our ultimate goal in life should not be anything we play with or eat. Our ultimate goal in life is to Seek and Save the lost people. We will have all we want, when we allow the Lord be our shepherd and guide us.
