Exodus 14:19 (KJV) – And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
Genesis 28:12 (NIV) – He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
Judges 13:15-16 (NIV) Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you.” The angel of the Lord replied, “Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.” (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the Lord.)
We should daily thank God for the blessings of which we are unaware.
There was a story that I once heard about a lady that worked near a crime scene. On the night of the crime, she walked alone to her car. She felt as though someone was watching her. The next morning she read about a lady that was beaten in the same alley she had walked through just moments before.
She went to the jail and sat down with the accused criminal. “Did you see me walking to my car?” she asked. He answered, “Why yes ma’am.” She continued, “Why didn’t you attack me?”, she asked. “Are you kidding, woman?”, he replied. “It would have been useless to attack you, with those two huge guys that were walking right behind you.”
She immediately knew that God had sent angels to guard her. His conversation was used to convict him of the crime.
God sees your heart, not the dirty hair or outdated clothes. God sees who you are on the inside. He sees us for who we are today. We can not be afraid of who we were yesterday or what we did. We can not be afraid of tomorrow.
We should always focus on who we are right now, this very moment. Are we yielding to the Holy Spirit or doing our own thing or listening to the wrong spirits? Abide in Christ and trust in the LORD.
Luke 2:9-10 (KJV) – 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
