Matthew 14:27 (NKJV)
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
The wind is high and the boat is being tossed. In the fourth watch of the night, the darkest hour, Jesus calls out to the disciples on the boat. Peter says, “if it be you, Lord, call me out upon waters to You.”
It was too dark to see Jesus. They saw a figure and were filled with fear thinking it may be a ghost. Peter heard His voice. Peter wanted to get out of the rocking boat and be with Jesus on the water.
Jesus said, “Come.” Peter got down out of the boat and walked to Jesus on the water. Peter knew The Voice of his master.
Psalm 29:3 (KJV)
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters:
the God of glory thundereth:
the Lord is upon many waters.
From where you are, is it too dark to see Jesus? Do you hear Jesus calling in the midst of a storm? Do you need to get out of the rocking boat and go to Jesus?
Matthew 11:28 (KJV) – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
