06-15-15 – Anger

Proverbs 21:19 (KJV) – It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Anger is a Primary Emotion. Things happen in life that make us ANGRY! Anger is not always a secondary emotion caused by jealousy or another emotion. Anger is not just a lack of patience.

If a stranger kicked your dog, would you get jealous or confused? I would get angry. If a drunk driver hit my family car and sent my family to the hospital, I would be angry.

Psalm 42:11 (VOICE)

11 Why am I so overwrought,
Why am I so disturbed?
Why can’t I just hope in God?
Despite all my emotions, I will believe and praise the One

who saves me, my God.

We are not leaves falling from a tree and landing in the river of emotions to be carried away.

Satan is an Angel that was created by God. The Bible calls Satan the ruler of the world (John 12:31), the prince of the power of the air (Eph 2:2) and the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4).

Events of this world can trigger certain emotions. If we base our actions on those emotions, evil has the power to control our lives.

1 Corinthians 2:4 (KJV) – And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Proverbs 3:4-5 (TLB) – If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.

All authority in Heaven and Earth was given to Jesus. Satan has NO Authority. When events of this world make us react outside the Holy Spirit, Satan is trying to steal God’s Authority. By swaying our emotions, Satan tries to Kill and Destroy.

When we are born again the Spirit of God comes alive in our heart. It is the Holy Spirit that guards our hearts and guides our steps to life eternal with Jesus.

Galatians 5:22-23, 25 (NKJV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
