Prepared for War
Joshua 4:13 (KJV)
13 About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the Lord unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.
Be All You Can Be!
Generals prepare armies for battle. Do the generals know when the battle will take place? Most attacks are done in secret to gain the element of surprise. Generals know that wars can start at any moment.
Often it is preparation that prevents wars. The enemy will lay in wait until their opponent is not ready or unexpectant.
Put on the whole armor of God everyday. Fly your banner high for the enemy to see. Be ready for attacks from the evil one.
Isaiah 13:3 (NIV) – I have commanded those I prepared for battle;
Isaiah 13:3 (KJV) – I have commanded my sanctified ones,
Moses led the people of God through the wilderness and Joshua prepared them for taking the promised land. God’s people had to be sanctified and prepared for battle.
Philippians 2:12b (KJV) – work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Joshua 1:11 (NASB) – “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are to cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.’”
