Walk in the Spirit
Galations 5:16 – This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Our human nature should not have control of our decisions. Have you heard, “Don’t go grocery shopping when you are hungry?” The reason is because your body wants. Our wants can be strong enough to become needs if we listen to our body. We may feel we need something when there is NO NEED, JUST WANT.
Our bodies are trained today with a buffet society. Take in all you can, for one low price. We take long showers and run the dishwashers as though water never stops running. We are trained to judge people by their shoes. We eat a meal and can not be satisfied until we are full.
We need to shorten our showers, lessen our meal portions turn off the TV and get back to serving each other. Societies crumble when everybody takes until they are full. We need to serve each other, not compete for parking spots and compare the value of our wardrobes.
Galations 5:17 – For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955)
Feed and clothe your bodies, but do not succomb to the marketing and competition of our western culture that says you must be better than someone else. Success is not Godliness.
You can live a Holy life and be successful. Keep God in front of you and not behind you. Stay focused on God and He will lead you to where you need to be.
Galatians 5:24-26 Names of God Bible (NOG)
24 Those who belong to Christ Yeshua have crucified their corrupt nature along with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by our spiritual nature, then our lives need to conform to our spiritual nature. 26 We can’t allow ourselves to act arrogantly and to provoke or envy each other.
Galatians 5:24-26 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
24 And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. 25 God’s Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. 26 But don’t be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are.
Galatians 5:24-26 King James Version (KJV)
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
