07-28-15 – Forgiveness

Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJV)

14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Colossians 3:14-15 (KJV)

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Forgiveness is so anti-Satan.  Forgiveness is so anti-World.  The world says, “there is power in numbers.”  Satan says, “might is right.” and, “Only the strong will survive.”  These are marketing slogans for pride and evil.

Try Jesus Logic:

“One God and Father of all, who is above all” -Eph 4:6

“Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth” -Rev 12:9

“he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” -Matt 10:39

The whole Bible is about God’s Love.  The answer to every mystery is God’s perfect Love.  Yes, it is that simple.  The lesson to be learned from the Bible is God’s Perfect Love.  How can we coexist on this hate-filled Earth?  Love!

Why do I speak of Love when this devotion is about FORGIVENESS?

The only way to forgive on God’s level is to Love all people with the Love of God.  When Jesus hung on the cross he said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” -Luke 23:34

John 15:9  (KJV) –  As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

When we say, “I am trying to forgive you.” We are really saying, “I don’t love you.”  When we love someone with perfect love, there is no “trying” to forgive.  You forgive them IN LOVE.

1 Peter 4:7-8 (NLT) – 7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. 8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Herein is the victory we have over death and all the wiles and schemes of the serpent.  Love conquers ALL.

There is joy in forgiveness.  Barriers that hurt relationships are broken when we forgive others.  Forgiveness allows God to do what only God can do.  He is all powerful with no limitations.  But His Word promises that our Forgiveness of others opens doors for His Love to us. (Matt 6:14)
