1 Kings 17:5 (KJV) – So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
Just as children may not understand everything their dad tells them to do, we must obey God with childlike faith. The LORD told Elijah to leave town and rely on birds to feed him. What could be more unbelievable or risky?
1 Kings 17:14 (KJV) – For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
The LORD promises to take care of those who obey Him and seek His will for their life. Just as manna came to the Israelites in the wilderness, and flesh to eat came to Elijah by way of the ravens, our food and basic needs will be given to us by God Himself, if we sacrifice our lives to do His will.
1 Kings 17:23 (KJV) – And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
When we are OBEDIENT to the Word of the LORD, His Spirit teaches, comforts and empowers us to carryout His master plan. Demons will be cast out, bodies will come back to life and many other miracles will follow obedience to the LORD.
