1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) – But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Have you ever mentioned Jesus name at a party and everyone who hears you looks at you like, “Shut Up!” There is not a time to rule out God. People, Christians too, can get caught up in the ways of the world where Jesus is not welcome.
Jesus is not our whipping boy. Do not crack jokes about the man who constantly seeks God. If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, your body is temple. The Spirit of God is with your wherever you go.
A “Christian” that does not wish to acknowledge God’s presence is not being Christlike. Jesus sought to do His Father’s will in every circumstance.
Matthew 21:13 (KJV) – And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Natural reactions are rarely the Godly action. When a person is mean to us, we naturally dislike them. If a person makes alot of mistakes, we naturally make fun of them or say bad things about them.
Spiritual actions are rarely natural. A spiritual person understands the Holy Spirit is with us, watching us and helping us. The spiritual Christian speaks blessings on one another and is careful to not speak hate towards another person.
2 Peter 2:20-22 (NLT)
20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. 21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22 They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”
