09-29-15 – Sparrows

Psalm 84:3 (NLT)

3 Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young
at a place near your altar,
O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God!

We are attracted to and revere the Holy Spirit. The psalmist says that even the birds made their home near the altar as a safe place to raise their young.

Luke 12:6-7 (NLT)

6 “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. 7 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

God cares for all living creatures. The whole world is in His hands. Father God wants you to have everything you need.

Jesus said His yoke is easy and burden light (Matt 11:30). However, we must fully submit everything to Him so He can carry our load.

Luke 19:38-40 (NLT)

38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

39 But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!”

40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”
