10-03-15 – Disobedience

Romans 2:5-6 (NLT) – But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done.

Our lives on Earth are but a blink of eternity. God’s master plan is loftier than your mind’s comprehension. He calculated man’s stubbornness into His plan and knows the fate of those who refuse to obey.

In fact, God loves us enough to make our calling attainable in our own minds. Faith is necessary for Eternal Life. However, our duties on Earth are conceivable. God will not make you do something “stupid”.

We better know it’s God instructing us, before we jump out of a flying airplane with no parachute. Running naked through a crowded stadium is not God’s instruction.

If God is telling us to walk or run a mile a day, do it. If God is telling us to join a Sunday school or Lifegroup, do it. If God tells us to quit playing video games during the week, do it. God’s yoke is easy. Do Not Be A Stubborn Mule.

Hebrews 12:11 (NLT) – No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

Remember that it is US who need God, not vice versa.  God has punishment in store for those who disobey.

When we work for God, He works for us. Do not resist God’s instruction. Be open to His will. Only God can take you where He designed you to be.

Deuteronomy 28:1 (NLT) – “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.”
