Desperation

Jeremiah 17:5-6 (NKJV)

5 Thus says the Lord:

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.

Trust the LORD with all your heart and despair will be far from you.

Unfortunately, pits happen. This world makes it easy for us to rely on man for happiness, peace and contentment. When we put our trust in man, we will fail. Do not fall into the pit of despair.

The desperately wicked man is a person who has lost hope and feeds on anguish and demoralization. It pleases the wicked to see others hurting.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NKJV)

9 “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

No matter how far we have fallen, even at our lowest point, Jesus is there to pick us up. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life to all mankind.

There is no pit too deep and sin too great to keep us from the Love of God.

Psalm 88:6, 8b, 9b (NKJV)

6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,
In darkness, in the depths.
8bI am shut up, and I cannot get out;
9b Lord, I have called daily upon You;
I have stretched out my hands to You.

Our pride can separate us from God. It is against human nature to submit to God. Only God can supply all of our needs. Money cannot buy true love or pure joy. The provision from man and things of this world are temporary and only keep you coming back for more.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) – And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Lift your hands to heaven and pray. No hands are too dirty or unfit for Jesus. God is a God of Mercy and Grace. We must confess everything to God, forgive everyone that has hurt us and welcome Jesus into our hearts.
