10-17-15 – Two-Faced

Two Faced

Psalm 55:21 (NKJV)

21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter,
But war was in his heart;
His words were softer than oil,
Yet they were drawn swords.

The psalmist talks of the enemy in Psalm 55. The enemy has a lying tongue. When someone is trying to hurt you or stop you from succeeding, they are not acting or walking in the Spirit, The Holy Spirit.

When someone is two faced, their words do not cooperate with their hearts. They give fake smiles. They love to flatter. Many times they complement you and insult you at the same time.

Proverbs 26:23-25 (NKJV)

23 Fervent lips with a wicked heart
Are like earthenware covered with silver dross.
24 He who hates, disguises it with his lips,
And lays up deceit within himself;
25 When he speaks kindly, do not believe him,
For there are seven abominations in his heart;

People you know and love will put on masks and be TWO-FACED. They will say, “It is not too evil”, even when they know it’s wrong. The devil knows God’s Word. He used the Word of God to tempt Jesus (Matt 4:6).

People who don’t fear God will stab you in the back with words. There are two-faced people in most gathering places. Evil people feel better when they tear down others. Be careful to not fall into the temptation to judge others.

We need to encourage our friends and pray for our enemies. We cannot tear down or judge others. The Bible says we will be judged in the same way we judge others (Matt 7:2). We should speak Love and Peace to others, especially our enemy.

When someone tries to bring us down with mean words or anger, we must rise above it and speak Love and words of encouragement. If we only love those who are good to us, what kind of Love is that?

Matthew 5:43-44 (KJV)

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
