10-20-15 – Pride

Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) – Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 8:13 (KJV) – The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Pride is unhealthy when we focus on ourselves and put our will ahead of God’s will. The Bible says the GREATEST among you is your SERVANT (Matthew 23:11). We must put aside our selfish wants and SEEK God’s will for our life.

Psalm 118:8 (KJV) – It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

We need to have a healthy view of who we are and always remember who is our source of Life. We sometimes think we know what is best; have we prayed about it and sought His Will.

Pride will have you to make decisions and do things for the good of you, forgetting all others, even your loved ones.

Pride will tell you that you are more important than anyone and everyone should be doing it your way.

Just as playing for a team, Pride will cause dissention within a team, unless your Pride is in the team and not yourself.

Hebrews 10:35 (CEV) – Keep on being brave! It will bring you great rewards.

Let your courage and confidence be in Christ in you, the hope of Glory.
