10-28-15 – Demons

Luke 11:14 (NIV) – Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed.

Demons are real. They are dangerous to your mind, body and soul. We must stand on the Rock of our salvation and resist the devil. Demons work for the devil to stop Love from reaching lost souls.

Our commission from God is to spread the gospel and the story of Jesus to save the lost souls. Demons are the resistance. The apostle Paul says that our weapons are not of this world, but they are mighty (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Luke 10:17 (NLT) – When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”

Luke was a physician. He was not considered dumb or even slow compared to intellectuals. In the gospel of Luke, he testifies that the people, disciples of Jesus, commanded the demons in Jesus name. The disciples had authority over the demons when they used the name of Jesus.

Revelation 12:9 (KJV) – And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Jesus said there would be resistance. Look at the life Jesus lived as he preached a logic that is contrary to the wisdom of the world. It is easy to believe the world and shun Christianity, but where will your soul spend eternity if your body dies and you are living for the World?

James 2:19 (NLT) – You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.

Even the demons know that God has all authority over Satan, the demons, His angels and every living thing. God is the Alpha and Omega. He already knows the fate of the demons. We need to see Evil in God’s eyes with Faith that He will protect us.

The demons do not want to accept their fate. In fact, they do not want to see God. The Bible says that when we resist the devil, he will flee (James 4:7).

Matthew 10:7-8 (NLT)

7 Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!
