Ephesians 4:18-19 (KJV)
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
Sin becomes a downward spiral if we deny God and continue living immorally. We, being mortals, must not simply do what feels good. Sin will take us farther than we want to go, make us pay more than we are willing to pay, and keep us longer than we want to stay.
The vice of Godless living causes us to bring others down, as well. Especially in a family environment, children are learning from Godless parents how to rebuke authority and insight rebellion.
2 Peter 1:9 (KJV) – But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we must live according to the Spirit, not the flesh. We cannot simply do what feels good and stay stuck in a rut until our dying day. We have to step out of our comfort zone and follow God’s will for our life.
It may be painful to give up sin. It may be socially unacceptable to stop sinning. You may lose your closest friends if you change your way of living. We have to do whatever is necessary to remove vices from our life.
Romans 1:18, 20 (KJV)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
God is clearly all powerful, all knowing and everywhere. There is no place we can flee from His presence. He has made His omnipotence prevalent throughout our lives. We have no excuse for denying God.
Living in denial and a chosen state of oblivion will cost you an eternity in Hell. We must choose Life daily. We must Love God by obeying Him to receive the promises He made to us, like eternal Peace.
Isaiah 32:17 (NKJV) – The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
