Psalm 91:1 (KJV) – He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
God is our hiding place. He is our refuge and shelter in a storm. We can not let the world views of God detour us from drawing nigh to God. The world will call God a crutch for the weak, or an excuse for the poor.
Do not be ashamed to trust God. Do not be embarrassed to pray. It is not politically correct to bless your food in public. There once was a time when it was rude to not bless your food before eating.
The brain-washing of the world tells us there is no time for God. The world tells us that we need more stuff and less God. The direction of the world is away from God and total dependence on man.
Isaiah 32:2 (NLT)
Each one will be like a shelter from the wind
and a refuge from the storm,
like streams of water in the desert
and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land.
When we stop trusting God and put our trust in man, we are cursed to live in a barren land (Jeremiah 17:6). When we trust in man, we are left wanting more. With God, we have streams flowing in the desert and a shelter from the heat.
Psalm 31:20 (NLT)
You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in your presence,
far from accusing tongues.
We must spend time with God. He is more valuable than silver and gold. He will protect us from the snares of the evil one.
Do you want to leave a legacy for generations to come that impresses men?
Or do you want to change the world for God and leave a legacy that pleases God?
Romans 8:39 (NKJV) – nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Psalm 119:114 (KJV) – Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
